An explosion of colours , the sound of partying, wonderful masks mimicking the glorious past of the Serenissima and thousand of gaily coloured characters walking around. This is Venice Carnival, the party of all parties where jokes, fun, easygoing atmosphere are all mixed together.
It’s for sure one of the most well known and famous carnival but it’s for sure the most magnificent and refined of the world. A very long preparation precede this event : craft workshops busy creating the sumptuous costumes –real works of art - and the entire city in excitement, organising concerts, street shows, by professional and non professional artists, as well as private parties in many building along the Canal Grande.
An incredible organisation toils to ensure that the great Carnival tradition blossoms every year delighting both children and adults.
Compared to New Years Eve and some other traditional festivities, the Carnival is one of the most impressive: a joyous throng invading St. Marks Square, in every Watergate, small "calle", little corner of this beautiful city.
Jesolo Carnival, on the other hand, with its ten year tradition, has a different atmosphere and offers hearty laughs. The accent is on floats and folks groups mixing satire of daily life with many curious representations. Greatest fun at theme parties where costume is a must and great fun is assured.
